Like us, the chances are fairly high that you have driven right past Greyfriars House without even realizing! It is situated in a fantastic location, just off the Hogs Back road a mere 2 miles from the centre of Guildford. Shielded from the main road by a dense tree line, Greyfriars House awards you with arguably the best view anywhere in Surrey, and that’s just the driveway!

From the moment you turn off the Hogs Back and enter through the fantastic stone archway, you are greeted with the amazing views that you will remember long after your wedding has passed!

It would be all too easy to get swept away by those views (believe us, we’re not exaggerating!) but there is a lot more on offer here than just the scenery.

Greyfriars House itself, dates back to an original Voysey design from 1896.
The current owners, Barry & Libby are a fantastic couple and have done an exquisite job in restoring Greyfriars House to its former glory days and probably beyond!
Sparing no expense, the restoration has preserved all of the original buildings charm and character. The unique design touches including a heart shaped letter box and associated door keys are still a prominent feature that will bring a smile to every wedding guest!

It is obvious that a great deal of thought has been given to modernizing the mansion house as, while the original character is maintained, the building is immaculate and beautifully maintained.

Greyfriars House party piece is its position high in the Surrey Hills with spectacular views across the North downs featuring everything from vineyards to woodland and parkland. Truly breathtaking!
If a marquee is something that you would enjoy, the main lawn offers one of the best settings you will find anywhere with fantastic access to the main house and those views!

As Greyfriars House benefits from being a licensed venue for civil marriages and partnerships, you can start and end your day at this fantastic wedding venue.
The Drawing Room features a beautiful large stone mullioned bay window, twin stone fireplaces and vaulted ceilings creating a unique and stunning setting for your wedding breakfast or wedding ceremony.
Seating up to 80 people for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, the drawing room is ideally sized for small to medium sized weddings.

Like most mansion houses, Greyfriars House cannot offer hundreds of bedrooms like other Hotel based weddings, but this needn’t be a drawback. They offer a complimentary shuttle service by prior arrangement for your guests to and from Guildford and its mainline railway station. Alternative accommodation for your wedding guests is only a 5-10 minute taxi ride away.

Barry & Libby offer you the opportunity to create a wedding day unique to your own specific requirements. Let your imagination run riot and discuss your ideas with them, we are confident that they will accommodate all reasonable requests!
They will also be very useful in helping you plan the day and have resident caterers and marquee suppliers both with long established relationships ensuring that you get both quality service and value for money. Flexibility is strong here again, allowing you to avoid common ‘additional charges’ you may find elsewhere allowing you to provide your own wine – without corkage charges! Greyfriars House also have relationships with the local vineyards and can provide examples of their excellent wines if you want to enjoy a taste of that view!

You will not understand why we are so taken by this truly beautiful wedding venue until you have seen it for yourself! Take our word for it, you will not find nicer or more attentive people to host your wedding nor a venue with better views!
